about the artist

Ash Kingsland was raised in the Midwest, with a proclivity for painting from the moment they could hold a brush. They graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing, with a focus on Creative Writing for Diverse Contexts. While in school they took courses in art history, drawing, painting, ceramics, and design, they are primarily self-taught.

Currently the artist works for the Cincinnati Art Museum. They are a part of the museum’s Council for Community Engagement, and are passionate about making the arts more accessible to all. The artist has a special place in their heart for self-taught artists, and their dream is to help themselves and other self-taught artists in the area reach their full potential in the world of art.
